About the club
Our club was established in 1984 and a number of our founding members are still involved in club activities. We have approximately 70 members who regularly participate in club meetings and hosting events. For inbound Journeys, we are pleased to host up to 25 ambassadors.
About the region
We are located in the Northeast region of the United States known as New England. This area of New Hampshire was settled in 1623 so we have a great deal of history to share with visitors. It is a beautiful area with the ocean, lakes, and mountains, as well as the historic cities of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Portland, Maine, and Boston, Massachusetts all within easy travel distance. We are famous worldwide for the beautiful fall foliage in late September and early October. New Hampshire’s lakes, mountains, and beaches are also very popular tourist destinations in the summer.
About the Journey
The activities we offer can include a narrated boat tour of Portsmouth Harbor or the Isle of Shoals (located 7 miles into the ocean) and a tour of Strawbery Banke, a reconstructed colonial community. We also offer the following activities: tour of Portland, Maine, lighthouses and a walk along the ocean; tour of Canterbury Shaker Village, a religious community known for their diligence, ingenuity, and celibacy; tour of the state capitol in Concord; tour of Boston, Massachusetts, tour of the University of New Hampshire; boat tour of Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire’s largest lake at 21 miles in length and covering a total of 69 square miles; and trips to the beautiful and majestic White Mountains.
