About the club

We are friendly, fun-loving, active club that enjoys the opportunity to make new friends. We meet monthly at our LEO’s (Let’s Eat Out) and use that time to catch up with each other, get updates on club activities and, of course, enjoy the food. We also plan other events throughout the year. Everything from volunteer opportunities to shared outdoor activites and game nights. Our board meets monthly and we have an annual membership meeting in December. We try to have an international and domestic inbound and outbound each year. In the past few years we have travelled to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and Australia. In October of 2020 our club will visit the clubs in Kitui, Kenya and Kampala, Uganda. The FFEWNI club welcomes everyone and is dedicated to the pinciples of Friendship Force.

About the region

Spokane is a historic city with an active downtown, beautiful parks and the falls of the Spokane river. Going north and you have forested hills and beautiful lakes that extend all the way to the Canadian border. We are only 30 minutes from the Idaho border to our east and the tourist town of Coeur d’Alene with its amazing lake and resort. South of Spokane you enter one of the most productive farm lands in the country, the rolling hills of the Palouse. West of Spokane is the fascinating geology of the scab lands and the Grand Coulee Dam.

About the Journey

We try to match the interests of our guests with the wide variety of activities and venues available in our area. Spokane is famous for its outdoor activities so we can offer hiking, biking and kayaking from May through September. We have beautiful parks to explore and a vibrant, historic downtown. There are wineries, breweries and a constantly expanding restaurant scene. It seems there is always something going on in Spokane. While most activities will involve all ambassadors, we do plan some off time where the ambassador and their host can plan something on their own, or just relax. Costs vary with the group and the activities planned but typically will be between $150 and $200. We have a good mid-sized international airport just west of town and it is easy to make flight connections. For those who prefer to drive I-90 runs right through town. Spokane may not be on the top of everyone’s wish list but between the hospitality of our hosts and the beauty of our area you will be glad you came and will want to return.
