The Club

was initiated in November 2010, and it is currently in development. We can host two groups a year.

Information about the region: 

Coatepec is located 8 kilometers south of Xalapa, our capital city in the state of Veracruz. At an altitude of 1250 meters above sea level, its climate is mild and humid. Coatpec is worldwide known as a coffee plantation land for the quality of its coffee. The exporting of critics also plays an important role in this region. Due to the climate of this region and to the exuberance of mature, orchid collectors have found many interesting green house with develop the production of these wonderful flowers.

In 1995, the National Institute of Anthropology and History declared it “Zone of Historic Monuments of Central Veracruz.” Nowadays, people refer to it as a “Magic Village.” Other nearby cities include Xico, Teocelo, Naolinco, Perote, and Tlapacoyan. Within these cities, you can find theatres, art galleries, museums, churches, etc. You are always surrounded by the beauty of nature- waterfalls (El Enchant and La Tomata), ecological reserves, beaches (Villa Rica, Tajin, Zempoala, Quiahuiztlan). Music, dances, handcrafts, and wonderful cuisine all attract visitors from all over the world.

About the exchange:

You can live with the hospitality of your hosts and enjoy music and regional folklore. Hike and learn about interesting places, handcrafts, and enjoy the local food. Plunge into the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and visit the archaeological sites to appreciate natures and a magnificent view of the sea from the heights of the Hill of the Grinstones.

There is a full day optional walking tour to the archeological site “El Tajin.” IT is located within four driving hours from Xalapa. This option has an extra fee for admission to the site and for the room at the hotel.
